Prime Time News Bulletins: Exploring the Status of PEMRA Code of Ethics

Media ethics is a debatable issue among scholars and researchers. This study has examined the media being practiced by Pakistani outlets through comparative analysis of defamatory,violence, indecency, hate speech privacy in news bulletins (9 pm) three private channels i.e. Geo news, ARY 24 over period months. The also examines if code conduct enacted Private Electronic Regulatory Authority (PEMRA)had any relevance to these channels. Using content research technique, researchers found that each channel carried indecent,defamatory, violent, its nine pm bulletins. had more instances defamatory. It was revealed PEMRA's little as they were involved an overt breach regulations.
